Day 1: South Cappadocia Tour
Fly from Istanbul to Kayseri or Nevsehir. Upon arrival, transfer to Goreme. Explore the Derinkuyu Underground City, built as a refuge by early Christians. Continue to the stunning Ihlara Valley (ancient Peristrema), known as the “Valley of Sky,” and walk 4 km along the Melendiz River visiting famous rock-cut churches. Stop at Pigeon Valley and the impressive Selime Monastery before returning to your Goreme hotel.
Day 2: North Cappadocia Tour
Begin at the Goreme Open Air Museum, home to beautifully preserved cave churches showcasing Byzantine-era Christian frescoes. Visit Cavusin, a former Greek settlement with unique civil architecture. Enjoy lunch in Avanos, the center of terracotta art since 2000 BC. Explore Pasabagi (Monks Valley) with its mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys, then Devrent (Imagination Valley) with its remarkable rock formations. End with a visit to the Uchisar natural rock castle for panoramic views.
Day 3: Transfer to Pamukkale via Konya
Depart early morning for Pamukkale. Stop in Konya, the spiritual home of Rumi (Mevlana), founder of the Whirling Dervish order and a major historic Silk Road trading hub. Arrive in Pamukkale for overnight stay.
Day 4: Pamukkale & Hierapolis Tour
Full-day tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the white travertine terraces — highly mineralized thermal waters cascade down the mountainside creating a frozen waterfall effect. Explore the ancient Roman spa city of Hierapolis, built to harness the healing powers of these thermal springs. Transfer to Kusadasi for overnight stay.
Day 5: Ephesus Tour & Flight to Istanbul
Full-day guided tour of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world. Enter through the Magnesia Gate and walk through the ruins of this Roman provincial capital. See the Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, Fountain of Trajan, the Odeon, and the Great Theatre (25,000 seats) where St. Paul preached. Visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After the tour, transfer to Izmir airport for your flight back to Istanbul with hotel drop-off upon arrival.
